Western Regional Minister hopeful gov’t will meet demands of school feeding caterers
The Western Regional Minister, Mr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah is upbeat that government will meet the demands of the school feeding caterers for them to resume work.
The caterers are demanding an increase of their feeding grant from 97 pesewas to 3 cedis to meet the high cost of food prices on the market.
The minister who was speaking of the Speaking on the Jolly Breakfast Show (JBS) on Tuesday, May 17, said, though the demands of the caterers are in order, the government have been committed to the payment of their allowance.
He disclosed that the sector Minister is having some discussions with the Minister of Finance and he believes that government will find a solution to it.
The minister also gave an update on the two major projects that are currently ongoing here in Takoradi that is the interchange and the market circle reconstruction.
“We are very much on track and we will complete all the projects which we will complete within the next 24 months.”
