Popular youth dev’t activist Andy Osei Okrah hits bookshelf with ‘YOU ARE A LEADER’
An author, pro-youth development activist and leader, Andy Osei Okrah, energizes bookshelves with yet another best seller-brain teaser, ‘You Are A Leader’.
Already, this literature has been described by avid readers as a lamp post to re-engineering the leadership specific role in organizational development.
Andy Osei Okrah, whose leadership journey experience debut into the literary terrain shot him into national prominence, says YOU ARE A LEADER-Time tested Strategies for Unearthing the Leader in You, navigates the delicate field of harnessing leadership skills for optimum corporate delivery and productivity at the global stage.
The foreword of the 212-page book was written by one of Ghana’s renown international diplomats, statesman and leader His Excellency Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas, former Under Secretary General to the United Nations and First President of the Ecowas Commission.
Dr Ibn Chambas, in a his preview, recommended the page-turner to corporate Ghana, observing that “it is a good read as it explores the myriad of opportunities available to leaders poised for increased productivity”.
Scheduled to be held on Wednesday, July 6 at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, Accra, the launch of the book will have Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Professor Rita Akosua Dickson as the Special Guest of Honour and she is slated to launch this book.
An HR consultant par excellence, Andy Okrah, has a wealth of experience as a leader, traits evidenced in his career and formation of pro-youth foundation, Young Professionals and Youth Coalition YPYC, which had, spanning a decade, modeled hundreds into responsible leadership positions globally.
“In effect, it is not my position as President of YPYC that makes me a leader. The leadership is by virtue of the influence I have had on people, the community, my team and not just the position I occupy,” re-affirms the author in the introductory to YOU ARE A LEADER.
A press statement issued in Accra ahead of the launch said Andy Osei Okrah is a product of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, from where he obtained his Undergraduate degree with a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom.
The author artfully brings to the fore the immense benefits of true leadership in governance and the pivotal role leadership plays in organizational success.
According to the statement, the writer’s central and overarching theme is unmistakable as he forcefully makes a case for the recalibration of the leadership development frontier with user-friendly training modules.
Many reviewers are of the conviction that the suggestion by the author to policy makers to adopt mechanism to focus and train leaders on the continent could not have been made at a better time, the statement concluded.
