Tarkwa MP Commissions New Health Facility
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency, George Mireku Duker, has commissioned a newly-built state-of-the-art Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHIPS) compounds with essential auxiliary facilities at Senyakrom under Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality.
The project is a sole initiative of the MP and forms part of the measures to expand access to quality healthcare service to residents.
The Senyakrom CHIPS Compound which was opened last Saturday, June 25, 2022, came months after similar facilities were commissioned in the constituency.
The state-of-the-art facility comprises a Consulting Room, Delivery Room, Recovery Room, Out-Patients-Department (OPD), Reproductive and Child Health Unit (RCH), Toilet facilities, two Bathrooms and two kitchens.
Speaking at the ceremony, the MP, who is also the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, said the facility is meant to deliver necessary health needs of his people.
“I commissioned the Senyakrom CHIPS Compound to deliver the necessary health needs of the community”, he said; adding that, residents within the catchment areas will no longer have to travel long distances for medical care.
The health officials from the municipal directorates as well as the chiefs and opinion leaders present at the event were excited about the construction of the CHIPS Compound.
The people of Senyakrom, especially, have also expressed gratitude for such an important edifice, which is expected to save their lives.
Later in the day, the MP also donated a brand-new VW vehicle to a constituent who happens to be a Taxi Driver to support him as part of his “own your taxi initiative.”
