Fearless Musah SuperiorTakes On Gabby Over‘Insensitive’ Comment

Failed General Secretary aspirant of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Iddrisu Musah alias Musah Superior, has taken on an influential member of government, Gabby AsareOtchere-Darko, for making certain comments he deemed insensitive to Ghanaians.

Mr. Otchere-Darko, a cousin to President Akufo Addo, in a recent post on social media, sorts to rubbish growing calls for a massive shake-up in the government.

But this did not go down well with the former Mayor of Tamale.  According to him, MrOtchere-Darko who is also a journalist and lawyer, did not speak well when he claimed that reshuffling of ministers, is not a one-stop shop to solving the country’s current economic hardship.

Mr. Iddrisu Musah described Gabby’s comment as most inappropriate especially at a time calls for the President to inject fresh minds into the administration has massively intensified.

This paper has also observed that, footsoldiers of the party have also been offended by Gabby’s remark and have since been taking a swipe at him on various social media platforms.

Days ago, Gabby claimed that the expected reshuffle cannot bring down inflation, stop the Russia-Ukraine war, or make the depreciating Cedi bounce back stronger.

“It is as if a ministerial reshuffle would bring down inflation, stop the war in Ukraine, and make the cedi forever stronger than the dollar,” his tweet on Sunday, July 24 read.

But Mr. Superior who is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Forestry Commission said, the rebuttal by Gabby was most insensitive to the sensibility of the many party members, who are impatiently waiting for the much-anticipated reshuffle.

The outspoken party activist who did not minced words in rebuking Mr. Otchere-Darko said the NPP cannot go into the 2024 general elections with such an arrogant posture.

He said for the party to make it break the 8 campaign a reality, “We must respect the views, concerns of the ordinary party people and stop these needless commentaries”

“This is the most insensitive statement by this gentleman. And I condemn it in no uncertain terms. To win 2024, we must be bold to challenge these posturings. We must respect the views, concerns of the ordinary party people and stop these needless commentaries”, he said in a post on Facebook.

Meanwhile some NPP foot soldiers have applauded Mr Superior for speaking truth to power and putting Mr. Othcere-Darko at his rightful place.

The calls for President to reshuffle some of his ministers has intensify over the period.

Some say the administration needs it especially at a time the economy is in a very deplorable state forcing government to seek an International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout.

A former General Secretary of the NPP Kwabena Agyei Agyapong has for instance, has wondered why his friend President Akufo-Addo has refused to do any major shakeup since becoming President in 2017.

In an interview a while ago with Kwami SefaKayi on his Kokrokoo morning show, the engineer cum politician said “I am surprised because even in football teams, during half times, there are changes. It’s pretty novel. It’s something that doesn’t normally happen, to government run got six years”

Some of the names that have come up for possible removal have been the Food and Agric Minister Dr Owusu Akoto Afriyie and Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta for claiming Ghana was never going to go to the IMF under his watch.

The Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister, Sarah Adwoa Safo’s name, had come up but last week, the President gave her the needed boot after staying out of the shores of the country for over a year.
