Massive Fraud Uncovered At Ngleshie Amanfro NDC
Some disturbing developments happening in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro Constituency, appears the party is not ready to recapture that seat from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) anytime soon.
The issues which border on some dubious acts, allegedly perpetrated by certain executives in the Constituency with tacit support from regional officers, is currently tearing the party apart, whiles legal actions are being considered.
This paper has gathered that, some party officers in a bid to advance their parochial interests to retain in their positions, have smuggled some strangers into the branch registers, without the knowledge of some branch executives.
According to The Anchor’s sources, activities towards the reorganisation and election of branch executives have been marred with a lot of irregularities and total disregard to rules as issued by Functional Executive Committee (FEC) and signed by the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.
Insiders told this paper that some regional officers seem to be complicit in the dubious act and therefore, making no effort to listen to the whistleblowers; look into the issues and right the wrong.
At the moment, the party is said to have been sharply divided and there is no unity of purpose mostly between the majority of the branch executives and some constituency executives.
Narrating the issues, insiders explained that during the reorganisation period, the constituency executives delayed giving the registers to their various branches in order to register new members.
However, when the registers were finally released to the branches, about 30branches have new branch-names inserted into the registers by the Constituency officers without the knowledge of Branch Executives. They alleged that, some branches had as much as 50 strange names into their registers.
Claims are that, the constituency executives had registered certain names without the knowledge of the existing branch executives from whose registers those people are emanating.
They accused the Constituency Chairman, Bright Atsu Modzaka, Secretary and the Organiser of being those behind flouting the laid-down rules with impunity.
At a regional meeting on Tuesday, August 9, at the Regional Secretariat, The Anchor is informed that, Chairman Ade Coker was hostile to aggrieved party members who are fighting the alleged fraud and shouting them down. At a point, he allegedly ordered them to stand on their feet while shouting on them as though, they were students or apprentices.
Sources at the meeting told this paper, two Deputy National Organizers, Chief Hamilton Biney and Kobby Barlon, who are part of the meeting, were accused of taking side just like the regional chairman and others, due to the manner they were handling the aggrieved factions.
As predicted, the regional committee, thus, failed to evaluate the evidence submitted by the aggrieved factions and therefore left issue unresolved amidst petty intimidations.
Mr. Coker, this paper has learnt, would be contesting the regional chairmanship again for the third time and so, has been pulling strings to have his way and to be elected again.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Constituency Chairman was asked about the whereabouts of the registers and he allegedly confirmed that they were still in possession of the constituency executives.
At this point Madam Sherry Ayitey, a Vice Chairperson then demanded that the Constituency Chairman should arrange for motorbike to go and bring all the registers for auditing. But this request was shockingly shot down by the regional chairman.
As at the time of filing this report, this paper is informed the matter has been referred to national level for resolution.
But it is unclear if Mr Hudu Yaya led committee will look into the allegations and publish severely the officers found to be culpable for justice to prevail.
More To Come…
