Anyone who defends NPP can defend the devil – NDC A/R Chairman

The Ashanti Region Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said the performance of the ruling government is so abysmal that nothing is currently working in the country.

Speaking on a local radio station in Kumasi on Wednesday, August 24, Augustus Andrew Nana Akwasi said even the communicators of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) can no longer defend the party.

“Anybody who can defend the government now can defend the devil,” he said.

He was speaking in the wake of the current economic crisis with the domestic currency depreciating at a faster rate against the US Dollar.

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has, however, cautioned the NPP not to jump ahead of themselves to celebrate over the current crisis.

“I know that there are people especially the National Democratic Congress who have begun to celebrate already because of the difficulties of the country,” he said in an interview on Nandom FM on Monday, August 22.

“One swallow does not make a summer. Tell them. They shouldn’t hesitate. They have been writing me off all my political career.

“I could never make it. I couldn’t win. I have won twice and I am going to win again for the party in December 2024.”
