Tarkwa NDC Catches Fires As Party Snubs DJ & Issah Taylor
The hope of two National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwarts in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency in the Western North Region to contest the party’s upcoming primaries as its parliamentary candidate for the 2024 elections is in limbo.
The Anchor is learning that, Mr. John Justice Abban, popularly called DJ, who was the party’s candidate at the last election, and one Issah Salifu Taylor, who are said to be lacing their boots to contest the primaries, will not be given the opportunity, in spite of their massive donkeywork for the party.
According to the paper’s sources, some bigwigs at the regional and national levels, out of their selfish interests, are scheming to impose Madam Joy Joyceline Andoh, the 2020 Independent candidate, on the party as the NDC’s candidate for the 2024 poll.
Insiders familiar with the development said the NDC is in talks with the self-acclaimed New Patriotic Party (NPP) lady, Ms. Joyceline Andoh, to smuggle her into the NDC, even though she has done nothing for the party in the area.
Sources say, even though Ms. Andoh is willing to accept the move as the NDC’s candidate, she has allegedly given a condition that unless the party allows her to stand unopposed.
This paper gathered that it is as a result of some of these developments that the party has put the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary primaries on hold.
Ms. Andoh was disqualified from contesting the NPP primaries after the party discovered she was not eligible, as per the party’s requirement.
It, therefore, came as a surprise to many, following the emerging information that NDC is scheming to impose a self-acclaimed NPP sympathizer on the party.
