Boxing: Sena Agbeko ranked 9th by WBA ahead of title fight on April 22
Ghanaian boxer, Sena Agbeko, has been ranked as the ninth contender in the World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Middleweight division in the latest rankings released by the body.
The rankings come as Agbeko prepares to take on WBA super middleweight champion and Cuban southpaw, David Morrell on Saturday, April 22.
The bout is the most high profile of the under cards on the Ryan Garcia-Gervonta Davis bill at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Nicknamed “The African Assassin”, Agbeko heads to the fight later this month on the back of a three-fight winning streak but Morrell is the heavy favourite to win the bout.
25-year-old Morrell has won seven of his eight professional bouts via knockouts on the back of an impressive amateur career while Agbeko has 27 wins and two losses in his pro career.
Demetrius Andrade (who is undefeated in 32 fights) ranks as the number one contender while Caleb Plant ranks fifth on the list. Plant recently lost via a unanimous decision to David Benavidez.
