Kumasi Technical Institute suspends 500 students indefinitely for misconduct
The Kumasi Technical Institute in the Ashanti Region has taken disciplinary action against some 500 students of the school for misconduct.
The students, all boarders, have been suspended indefinitely and sent home for misconduct and violation of school rules.
The students, during a rampage on Wednesday, 17 May 2023, reportedly caused damage to school property.
Management of the school, who did not provide details on the matter, however noted the suspension was to encourage discipline among students of the school.
The students, who were asked by the school authorities to pack out of their dormitories, will face the school’s disciplinary committee when they are recalled.
Meanwhile, a report on the students’ action has been sent to the Technical and Vocational Education Training Directorate for appropriate action.
