Ghana Needs Bold Solutions & Ideas – Samira Bawumia Charges

…Samira Charges, As She Freezes W/R Ahead of NPP Manifesto Launch

The Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, has said after 67 years of gaining Independence, what Ghana as a country needs at the moment, are bold solutions and ideas for the future to benefit the next generation.

She said, the country stands a better chance of growing at a faster rate, if electorates elect the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who according to her, is coming with bold solutions and ideas.

Addressing students and party faithful at the University for Mines and Technology (UMaT) campus in Tarkwa, as part of her ‘Samira Connect’ educational tour in the Western Region, she stressed that Ghana, needs bold solutions to continue from where President Akufo-Addo, will leave off.

Mrs. Bawumia, whose message received exciting responses from the students, also touched on some policies and programmes that have been embarked upon by the NPP administration, highlighting the investments in the areas of education, roads, health, among others.

She said, the NPP flagbearer, is promising very bold solutions which will accelerate development and therefore, charged the students to keep faith with the NPP and never fall for the NDC’s worthless ideas, which will draw the country back.

The Western Region tour, which appears to be in preparation ahead of the party’s Manifesto Launch this weekend in Takoradi, saw the Second Lady, visiting various basic schools, Senior High Schools and universities within the Tarkwa-Nsuaem enclave.

She said, improving the lives of the young ones, is at the heart of the NPP, that is why the Akufo-Addo government, introduced the Free SHS policy.

The flagship policy, she said, has afforded opportunities to many, particularly the poor, adding that this life time chance, must not be underestimated, especially the beneficiary students.

She said under the same administration, nurses and teacher trainee allowances, which were hitherto cancelled by the erstwhile NDC government under former President John Mahama, were brought back and the students are enjoying their allowances.

According to her, the NPP government, scraped the guarantor system, where students with Ghana Card can now access student loan.

Mrs. Bawumia noted that, the Ghana Card, which was started by former President John Kufuor, and under President Akufo-Addo, the National Addressing System, the national drone system and the entire digitalization system, which Dr Bawumia is promising to take it to a notch higher, if elected.

She explained, as part of Dr Bawumia’s vision, he is promising to create one million jobs, roll out the Credit Scoring System, among other innovative ideas to revamp the various sectors for development.

She said, it is time for Ghanaians to choose a leader, who believes in possibilities and is optimistic of where the country is going and is ready to steer the affairs for safe destination.

Unprecedented Records

According to her, the NPP government under eight years, has set record that is unprecedented in the 4th Republic, when it comes to infrastructure, roads, schools, hospitals, among others.

Turning her guns on the opposition NDC and its flagbearer, Mrs Bawumia, said the opposition has nothing good to offer, as they have no vision to espouse, advising the electorates not to fall for their empty promises.

Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tarkwa Nsuaem, George Mireku Duker, who is seeking reelection for third times, told the students, the NPP is the best party to guarantee a better future for them.

Mr Duker, who is also the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resource said, the government of President Akufo-Addo, has kept faith with the Ghanaian people, especially the youth, who have benefitted from the free SHS policy and other innovative policies.

The MP, discouraged the students from falling for NDC’s promises, as their future is assured with the NPP and Dr Bawumia.

The Deputy Minister in-charge of mining said, the NPP flagbearer, unlike Mr Mahama, is a visionary leader whose works is being praised by even the developed countries like the United States (US).

He pointed out the introduction of the drone system, which has helped saved lives across the country, stressing that during the just ended Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), the same drones were used to transport examination materials to remote areas of the country.

The MP, pooh poohed the NDC flagbearer’s policy to invest in livestock and poultry, saying this is not a programme that can benefit the students of UMaT.

“As you sit here, has president Mahama profess any vision? So, if you are here, you think your future is to engage in poultry farming? So, if you are here today, listen to good counsel and trust in the NPP, which has the vision to give you a better future”, he told the students.

He said, the NDC lacks ideas that is why after many years in government, they are unable to implement any social intervention programme.

He admonished the students and constituents to ask NDC, when they come to them to campaign, what they did for the constituency and what plans they have for them going into the future.

In the coming days, Mr Duker, said Tarkwa will see the commissioning of a sport stadium and also announced the completion of the Agona Nkwanta to Tarkwa road.

He challenged the students and party members to vote for Dr Bawumia and himself, so they can continue with the development projects.

Regional Minister and MP for the Takoradi constituency, Kobby Okyere Darko-Mensah said the NDC has seen defeat staring them in the face, so they have stopped talking about their earlier claims that they were going to win the election.

He claimed members of the opposition party, are now saying the election is 50/50, but he is convinced that the NPP, will cross the 50 percent plus one mark.

He concluded by saying, the NPP has outperformed in all sectors, unlike the NDC, which he said he cannot even tell what it did in the Takoradi and Tarkwa Nsuaem constituencies.
