The event commenced with an intensive workshop on safety measures and the effective use of power tools and screws, facilitated by Emmanuel Laryea of Bosch Power Tools and Emmanuel Ankah of Ejot Fixing Solutions.

The training was designed to equip the students with essential skills and knowledge, which they then applied in crafting their projects under the guidance of facilitators.

The panel of judges, comprising Emmanuel Laryea, Emmanuel Ankah and Friedel Helmich from SES Germany, evaluated the students based on innovation, originality, technical skills, quality of work, presentation and their ability to solve identified problems.

Akatsi SHTS’s final product, impressed the judges with its creativity, precision and functionality.

The Director of ‘The Rising Lions-Ghana’, Peter Attipoe, highlighted the significance of recognizing skilled workers in a society that often undervalues vocational education.

He emphasized the need to create platforms like this competition to showcase and celebrate the talents of young artisans.

Solomon Lodo, Project Manager at the German Chamber of Commerce, expressed gratitude to the sponsors and partners for their invaluable support in making the event a success.

This year’s event once again reinforced the importance of vocational education and the need to provide young artisans with the tools and platforms they need to excel.
