Ambassador Alhaji Said Sinare, the National Chairman of the Zongo Caucus Working Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has predicted that the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Hoehoe on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Peter Amewu, will not retain his seat for the second term.
According to him, the NDC, is fully prepared to win all the 18 parliamentary seats in the Volta Region in the December polls, devoid of complacency.
Speaking during a campaign tour in Hohoe, Alhaji Sinare, was confident that the party is emotionally, physically, and spiritually organized, to achieve this goal.
The former Ambassador to Egypt and Saudi Arabia, explained the NDC, would win the 18 seats, because of the quality of parliamentary candidates the party has fielded – candidates who genuinely care for the people of the region.
He cautioned the people of Hohoe, Ketu South and Kpando Zongo, against voting for the NPP’s presidential candidate in the December elections due to religious affiliations.
The NDC firebrand believes, electing Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as president would deepen the misery, poverty, and hunger in the country.
Alhaji Sinare, mentioned that the Zongos, known for businesses, would greatly benefit from the ‘24-Hour Economy’ policy of the John Mahama government, and the ‘Big Push’ project, would also be beneficial to the people of the region.
He also emphasized that, the NDC flagbearer’s “Mahama Cares” initiative, would be a game-changer for the ages and would create job opportunities for Zongo youths, especially in the security services.
Sinare, further highlighted the plans of the next government under Mr Mahama, which include building an Islamic University, Islamic Senior High Schools, providing scholarships for the needy, construction of an ultramodern Aflao Market, roads, and completion of all abandoned projects in the region.
Cedi Free-fall
Addressing the Muslims in Gakli in the Ketu South constituency, Alhaji Sinare, said the next Mahama government, would work to stabilize the dollar and CFA , as he criticized Dr Bawumia for his handling of the economy.
He also urged the electorates to vote massively for Mr Mahama and NDC, emphasizing that the governing New Patriotic Party, was primarily interested in misappropriating state funds for personal gains, rather than serving the suffering Ghanaians.
According to him, Ghana, has been plunged into suffering under President Akufo-Addo- Bawumia led leadership, sowing seeds of poverty, despair, insecurity, and disenfranchising the people of Zongo from participating in Hajj due to unreasonably high fares.
The onetime National Vice Chairman of NDC, who ended his one-week tour of the Volta Region in the North Tongu constituency last Friday at a mini rally, added that, the Muslim community across the length and breadth of the country, has endured continual discrimination, intimidation, and violence, since the commencement of the Akufo-Addo/Dr Bawumia administration.
The firebrand politician, alleged that since 2017, incidents of violence against Muslims, have increased with a succession of flashpoints in which attackers and others responsible for hate speech have enjoyed impunity for their activities.
He pledged that, the next government of Mahama, will be a government of equity which will ensure Muslims enjoy their freedoms.
He also pledged massive registration of Ecowas card and passport, if Mahama returns to the Seats of government.
