Jubilations in Volta over appointment of James Gunu as Regional Minister

The Volta Region, is abuzz with excitement as following President John Dramani Mahama’s nomination of James Gunu as the new Volta Regional Minister.

His nomination was announced on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 through a letter from the presidency.

This move has sparked widespread celebrations throughout the region, with many hailing it as a well-deserved recognition of Mr Gunu’s tireless efforts to promote the region’s development.

As the Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Gunu has been a vocal advocate for the region’s growth, consistently supporting President Mahama’s vision.

His appointment is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people of Volta Region.

According to Tanko Kwamigah Atokple, a renowned business mogul and Council of State Aspirant in the Volta Region, Gunu’s impressive track record of service to the region is marked by his instrumental role in organizing Mr Mahama’s campaign tour of the Volta Region in 2024.

Atokple praised Gunu’s humility, experience, and expertise, noting that these qualities will be invaluable assets in his new role.

The former District Chief Executive (DCE) of Akatsi North’s dedication to the party and the region is unwavering, and his appointment is a testament to his perseverance and hard work, he said.
