Agape Love Initiative To Support The Needy Launched
Agape Love Initiative (ALI), a new non-governmental organization (NGO)to primarily support the elderly and the needy, especially in the Ledzokuku Municipality in the Greater Accra Region, has been launched.
The event, held at Teshie, a fishing community in Accra, was formed by some old students of Sunrise Preparatory School (SPS).
The vision of ALI is to extend God’s Agape Love of willful sacrifices into the homes of the elderly and needy through projects and programmes in the area of healthcare and educational support.
Membership of the initiative is also open to others who did not necessarily attend the school, located at Teshie, as all they seek to achieve is their vision.
In a statement, read on behalf of the president of Agape Love Initiative, Bright Asamoah said the current global events have dealt a great blow to nations resulting in untold hardships.
But regardless of the situation, Mr. Asamoah said he and his colleagues could not pretend not to see nor feel the effects of the global pandemic, hence the decision to launch ALI to ostensibly support and assist the needy and the elderly.
He said ALI is open to anyone who is interested and believes in their vision to come on board to positively contribute to those who need their kind gesture
As the Sustainable Development Goals steadily reach its 2030 deadline, he believes that, the objectives of the initiative, when partnered and achieved, will promote a prosperous and peaceful planet where no one is left behind.
The chairperson for the launch, Edward Anum, lauded the initiators of ALI for extending a helping hand to society and asked for unity and God’s direction for them.
He also advised them to be fair, firm and flexible in their decision-making processes.
He encouraged the leadership of ALI to work efficiently on their deliverables to meet set objectives and to positively impact lives, especially those of the elderly and needy in society.
