No Loser In Awutu Senya East NDC Primaries – Naa Koryoo

The parliamentary candidate-elect for the Awutu Senya East Constituency in the just-ended National Democratic Congress (NDC) election has called for unity in the party, stating that there was no loser in the last Saturday, May 13, 2023 primaries.

According to Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor, everyone who took part in the contest is a winner because the greater task for the party ahead is winning seat in the 2024 election.

She stated that, with everyone coming onboard, the mission of winning Awutu Senya East seat for NDC is possible.

The private legal practitioner thanked the rank and file of the party for the confidence reposed in her and that of former President John Dramani Mahama.

She also expressed appreciation to her contenders for the great contest and for everybody that made the victory possible.

At the close of polls supervised by Mr. Dominic Agbanu, the District Electoral Officer (DEO), Mrs. Naa Koryoo Okunor polled 1,285 votes against her closest contender, Mrs. Dina Dugbaki Tetteh’s 655.

The other contenders, Fuseini Bakuoro Bodombie and Sadique Ibrahim Mohammed, also managed to secure 89 and 171 votes, respectively.

In the presidential race, former President Mahama polled 2,183 votes against Kojo Bonsu’s 7 votes, giving him over 99% endorsement from the constituency.

The Awutu Senya East Constituency was part of the 259 constituencies across the country that were cleared by the party leadership to partake in the presidential and parliamentary primaries on May 13.

The win for NaaKoryoo is the second time the delegates of the ASEC NDC will give the human right lawyer and native of Kasoa the opportunity to contest as a parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the NDC in the 2024 general elections.

On his part, the Constituency Secretary, Tauriq Ahmadu, indicated that the overall winner of the election is the NDC, adding that,the parliamentary candidate-elect will ride on the good works of Mr. Mahama and her performance in the 2020 general elections to wrest power from the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP, Mavis Hawa Koomson, or any other person to be presented by their opponents.
