Ho Police Refusing To Invite ‘Boxing DCE’

…Weeks After Victim Lodged Complaint

The infamous District Chief Executive (DCE) for Agotime-Ziope in the Volta Region, Emelia Emefa Adziamah, who recently made headlines for turning funeral grounds into a boxing ring and assault a fellow woman, is yet to be invited by the police for questioning.

The Anchor is informed, after more than 10days, since the incident, the police are yet to take any action on the case, leaving the victim to accuse the Ho Central Police of treating the DCE with kid’s gloves.

According to Ms. Dzifa Kaledzi, who is the immediate past Ho Central Constituency Women Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), she does not understand why her attacker is still uninvited by the Ho Central Police, more than a week, after she was brutalized at a funeral.

She said, even though she has been to the police station twice to write her statement and also provided two witnesses, as demanded by the investigator on the case, the law enforcers are yet to bring the DCE to answer for actions.

The victim, who is also a member of the NPP women group, called Loyal Ladies, told The Anchor, she would be forced to petition the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, if his officers continue to delay the process any further.

She bluntly told this paper, she is “suspecting a few things,” but will not go into details.

Earlier, she had indicated her readiness to sue Madam Adziamah if she does not apologize personally to her for her unwarranted assault, which resulted in a swollen forearm and an injury on her left eye-lid.

Speaking to The Anchor on Thursday June 8, 2023, Dzifa narrated that, “Up till now, the police have not invited her and she has not called to apologize to me, so, I am going back to the police station to the see the CID. You know, first I reported the case on Saturday, and on Monday they gave me the hospital forms that Saturday, and so Monday, I returned the hospital forms. And they asked me to give my statement.

I did that and they said I should bring two witnesses for them to give their statements and I am telling them that I think they should rather invite the person by now before giving me all this work to do. So I am done with the witness statements. I am going back to the CID to ask him a few questions concerning the issue because, if they delay, I want to petition the IGP.”

Asked what the police said is causing the delay in hauling the DCE to the station, “She didn’t even tell me anything. I was thinking okay I will give them some time, but from Saturday and today is Thursday so that’s why I am driving back there now. I am suspecting a few things, so I am also put my foot on the ground.”

Meanwhile, upon her visit to the police station yesterday, the police assured her that they are working to invite the DCE and so asked her to give her up to next week.

Last Saturday June 3, the Agortime Ziope DCE allegedly attacked Ms.Kaledzi at a funeral rite of the wife of the Ho Central constituency chairman, Frank Ahaze.

Madam Adziamah, who has remained silent since the incident, landed heavy punches on the face of Ms.Kaledzi and pushed her violently leading to her falling on the ground.

The DCE did not end there. While Dzifa was being assisted to get on her feet by the special assistant of the regional minister and the bodyguard, the DCE further hit her victim with the brochure of the funeral.

She, as a result of the attack, suffered various degrees of injuries, forcing her to report to the Ho Central Police Station, who gave her forms to report to the hospital. Medical report sighted by The Anchor read “Left eye-Red, tearing and photophobia Abrevasive injury at the upper eyelid. Left forearm-Tenderness, mild swelling and multiple Abrasive injuries, limitation to movement (Painful elevation).” She denied ever having prior issues with the DCE.

The shocking incident, according to Dzifa, occurred in the presence of several party dignitaries from constituency, regional and national levels. Among the party bigwigs were flagbearer hopefuls Kennedy Agyapong and Boakye Agyarko, as well as the regional minister, Dr Archibald Letsa.
