Volta NDC Congratulates TorgbuiFiti V

The Volta Regional secretariat of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated the paramount chief of the Aflao traditional area, Torgbui Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V, on his election as the president of the Forum of Kings and Traditional Leaders of Africa.

According to the secretariat, the revered paramount chief’s election is an honour to the Volta Region in particular and Ghana as a whole.

Mr. James Gunu, the regional secretary of the party, in a statement, dated Friday, July 28, and copied The Anchor, appealed to the traditional leader to use his new role and influence to promote Africa’s culture and traditional values within the sub-region.

“We appeal to Torgbui Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V, to use his new role and influence and promote Africa’s indigenous culture and traditional values within the sub-region,” he said.

He noted that, “The Chieftaincy institution is one of the noble institutions that has stood the test of time by positioning chiefs as agents of development and custodians of our cultural heritage.”

The statement further assured that the party will work with his leadership and other colleagues in the region to pursue developmental agenda.

“The Volta Regional NDC wishes to pledge its commitment to working with Togbe Fiti V and other traditional leaders in the region to pursue a rigorous transformational agenda for the volta region,” it added.
